MOST IMPORTANT - Collect money in advance. If you don't have their money, they will back out at the last minute. There is nothing more disappointing & aggravating than to have half of your people drop out just before your trip. Especially after all the time, money and effort you've invested. If everyone is responsible for something and has paid their money, they'll be with you around the campfire, laughing and talking about this great trip and beautiful river.
