After experiencing a successful career in real estate for 12 years, in 1978 I decided to pursue a slower pace of life by opening a canoe outfitting service on the Rappahannock River in Fredericksburg, Virginia, which is my hometown. The 2 1/2 acres of river front property bought for this venture simply demanded a building that would compliment such a beautiful setting. Naturally, a log home was the only choice! With the help of my wife and brothers, we erected a 1,180 sq. ft. log home. Because of the local interest during construction, it became obvious that this building should become a model log home as well as the home of Clore Bros. Outfitters.
